Aloe Vera plants are known for their versatile uses. They are real easy to grow and to have as indoor plant or patio plant. This plant survives with little indirect sunlight near south window or outdoors. These are very forgiving plants to grow.

Their Roots love to grow in either mulch or in soil or mix of them. It is that easy to grow.

Here are some common uses of aloe vera:

  1. Skincare: Aloe vera gel is well-known for its moisturizing and soothing properties. It can be applied topically to treat sunburns, minor burns, dry skin, acne, and other skin irritations. It is often used in skincare products like lotions, creams, and gels.
  2. Haircare: Aloe vera is beneficial for the hair and scalp. It can be used to promote hair growth, reduce dandruff, and improve the overall health of the hair. Aloe vera gel or juice can be applied directly to the scalp or mixed with other ingredients to create homemade hair masks or conditioners.
  3. Digestive Health: Consuming aloe vera juice or gel has been believed to support digestive health. It may help soothe gastrointestinal disorders, such as acid reflux, indigestion, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). However, it’s important to note that aloe vera should be consumed in moderation and with caution, as excessive intake can have adverse effects.
  4. Wound Healing: Aloe vera has been used traditionally to aid in wound healing due to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Applying aloe vera gel on minor cuts, burns, or wounds can help soothe the area, reduce inflammation, and promote faster healing.
  5. Oral Health: Aloe vera can be used to improve oral health. It may help reduce plaque buildup, gingivitis, and gum inflammation. Some toothpaste and mouthwash products contain aloe vera as an ingredient for its antibacterial properties and soothing effect on the gums.
  6. Immune System Support: Aloe vera contains various vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can support a healthy immune system. Drinking aloe vera juice or incorporating it into your diet may provide some immune-boosting benefits.
  7. Cosmetics and Personal Care: Aloe vera is commonly found in cosmetic products such as moisturizers, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and makeup. Its moisturizing and soothing properties make it a popular ingredient in the beauty industry.

It’s worth mentioning that while aloe vera is generally considered safe for topical use and moderate oral consumption, it may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. It’s recommended to perform a patch test before using aloe vera products on the skin and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any underlying health conditions or concerns.

I grow myself at home especially below two varieties.

  1. Aloe maculata – It grows evenly and so easy to grow.

2. Aloe barbadensis miller – This variety is especially used for skin to reduce any type irritation. This is one is my favorite one to be used on my face. Brightens the skin and heals any type of breakouts or any other inflammations on the skin or hair scalp. I have used many times on my face and it heals your skin.
